![]() ![]() I wasn't sure which preamp to get so i go the DJ Pre II from amazon thinking i would return it after a few weeks and trying another one or two, but it's worked like a charm so I might just keep it. i'll have to figure out a cleaning solution once I start getting used records, so far my handful are all brand new so a superficial cleaning has been good enough for me. I did buy a cleaning kit that came with a brush, spray and static brush that I use before playing a record. So far everything sounds great with the TT, Preamp and my powered speakers. I'm sure i'll get the itch eventually but I might just leave it as is for a while so I can get to learn my setup and when I do upgrade I can appreciate the differences more. I'm using the felt mat that came with the TT, i might change that to cork or leather but so far haven't had static issues. So far I don't have any upgrades planned. haven't seen any other new ones go for the $499 i found it for though, I lucked out somehow. ![]() I suggest checking amazon and clicking on each color you're willing to buy and check the "other sellers" tab, i've seen a few go for $549 over the period i was waiting for mine. I was able to snag a new one off amazon for $500 but it took almost a month to arrive. I'm learning a lot about it and also about records in general. I just received my first TT a week or so ago, the same Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo. Plenty of companies make these but I never bothered changing over the $0.40 per record that costs me for my records that cost $30 on average.ĭOWN THE ROAD: Your next best upgrade would be speakers and integrated amp for a substantial improvement while in comparison upgrading to an acrylic platter would give almost no improvement in audible sound quality. I thoroughly clean EVERY new record, play it then put it into a clean unused MoFi Inner Sleeve $20 for (50). Also get some anti-static poly inner sleeves. Record and Stylus Cleaning: Hudson Hi-Fi has a 9-piece cleaning kit $28 that will get you all you need to start cleaning your records and stylus. In your place I would get the turntable from a reputable company like Crutchfield + preamp + platter matįor the phono preamp the Pro-Ject Phono Box DC $129 and U-Turn Pluto2 $99 are common recommendations along with a long list of others (Art DJ, Schitt Mani.).įor platter mat just get something that is not felt (leather, cork, acrylic). ![]() Welcome to the sub! You have done a great job picking a very good turntable. My main budget was for the turntable itself, I really don't have anything set for other things for it.Īgain, just feeling majorly overwhelmed after turntable research that it's hard to process the other things that I'll need for this thing. I have okay speakers that should work for now, upgrading those will be the next goal. I'm planning on getting it from Audio Advisor and getting it in satin blue. Are there certain brands for that? I'd appreciate any recommendations for accessories/upgrades for this specific turntable. Like swapping out for acrylic to negate static, which I think I'll definitely need to do. ![]() I saw a lot of talk about upgrades for this one. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed after scouring through everything. After extensively reading through the guide and other internet searching, I've decided on my first turntable being the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO. ![]()
